Linkmeds

MLC Voyager | Getwell Innovations Limited

Linkmeds is a digital platform connecting patients to nearby community pharmacies with available stock while enabling pharmacies to digitally order from suppliers in real-time. Operating across Nasarawa State's four major urban centers (Lafia, Akwanga, Keffi, Karu), it addresses chronic medicine stockouts that force patients — especially women and low-income urban residents — to travel long distances or go without essential medications. The platform bridges the gap between available medicines, local pharmacies, and patients who need them most.

12,00 Lives Impacted

Linkmeds has delivered over 150,000 medications to 12,000+ patients across Nasarawa State, eliminating wasted trips to out-of-stock pharmacies and ensuring timely access to essential medicines for malaria, hypertension, contraception, and pediatric care.

By connecting 100+ community pharmacies to verified suppliers through real-time digital inventory management, Linkmeds have reduced stockout-related losses for pharmacies while enabling patients — particularly women, youth, and low-income urban residents — to find nearby stocked medicines via Hausa/English mobile search.

In Nigeria's context of 70%+ out-of-pocket health spending and 40%+ medicine stockout rates, Linkmeds creates resilient urban health access: patients save time and money, pharmacies gain reliable revenue, and suppliers optimize distribution. Key milestones include onboarding partnerships with the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) Nasarawa Chapter (300+ pharmacies), integration with Nasarawa Drugs Supply Management Agency (NASDSMA), and achieving transaction fee sustainability within 9 months of scaling. This demonstrates a proven model for equitable urban medicine access at scale.

The Innovation

Linkmeds is Nigeria's first professionally-anchored digital medicines platform, simultaneously connecting patients to nearby stocked pharmacies while enabling those pharmacies to maintain inventory through real-time supplier ordering. Unlike fragmented digital health solutions, Linkmeds works within existing pharmacy infrastructure via partnerships with the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), leveraging their 300+ member network for rapid, trusted scaling. Patients search for medicines via web/mobile (Hausa/English, USSD/SMS accessible), pharmacies manage digital inventory and procurement, and suppliers gain demand visibility — creating a closed-loop system that eliminates stockouts.

Currently serving Nasarawa's four urban hubs (Lafia, Akwanga, Keffi, Karu), Linkmeds uniquely combines institutional legitimacy (PSN), proven traction (150K+ meds delivered), and financial sustainability (month 9 transaction breakeven). Scaling plans include PSN national rollout across 36 states, NASDSMA public procurement integration, and NHIS reimbursement — positioning Linkmeds as Nigeria's backbone for community pharmacy-based essential medicines access.
