Empowering Health Access for All
MLC Voyager | Created by Zuri Health
Zuri Health delivers affordable, accessible healthcare to underserved communities through mobile medical camps and digital tools like SMS and WhatsApp. Zuri Health provides mass screenings, chronic disease care, and maternal services directly to patients, then follow up remotely to ensure continuity of care. Zuri Health are reaching people where they are, and building systems that keep them well.
162,736 Lives Impacted
Zuri Health is bridging healthcare gaps for low-income and remote communities in Africa. Through mobile medical camps, the organisation has reached over 160,000 individuals with essential services like cancer screenings, chronic disease management, maternal care, and family planning. Each patient is digitally registered and tracked, enabling follow-up care through SMS and WhatsApp — especially critical in areas with limited internet access.
Zuri Health’s innovation reaches women, youth, elderly, and persons with disabilities, often excluded from mainstream health systems. In partnership with county governments, telcos, and private sector actors like Safaricom and Betika, Zuri Health are not only scaling healthcare access but also creating jobs, building local capacity, and reinforcing health systems.
The impact is tangible: better health outcomes, increased health literacy, and fewer financial burdens from untreated illnesses. With new initiatives like Care Now, Pay Later and their “Afya Kwa Umma” PPP model, Zuri Health are expanding rapidly — aiming to reach 1 million people by 2026.
The Innovation
Zuri Health combines in-person care and digital health services to deliver inclusive, affordable healthcare. The organisations flagship innovation includes mobile medical camps deployed in underserved communities — reaching up to 5,000 people per event — alongside a growing network of digital follow-up services via SMS, WhatsApp, and USSD.
Unlike one-off medical missions, we stay connected. Every patient is registered, and follow-up care is managed through our digital platform, ensuring ongoing support for chronic conditions, medication adherence, and referrals. Our services span from family planning and women’s health to diagnostics, dental, optical, and cancer screenings.
Our “Afya Kwa Umma” initiative is a public-private partnership with county governments across Kenya. It enables scalable outreach supported by local health systems. Additionally, our Care Now, Pay Later program allows patients to access care immediately and pay over time, reducing financial barriers.
As we expand into other African countries, we are focused on building sustainable models that integrate with public systems, reduce inequities, and strengthen health outcomes through tech-enabled continuity of care.
